What is the Condition Management Programme?
The Condition Management Programme (CMP) is one of the options within
the Pathways to Work project. It is a partnership between NHS and
Jobcentre Plus designed to help people on Incapacity Benefit (IB)
manage their condition and return to work with the right help and
support.
How do I get on the programme?
CMP is available for all Incapacity Benefit claimants through your
Incapacity Benefits Personal Advisor (IBPA) at the Jobcentre.
Is CMP compulsory and does it affect my
benefits?
No, CMP is voluntary and if you do not attend it will not affect
your benefits.
Is it a shortcut to NHS services?
Definitely not. CMP does not provide a treatment service. Instead
CMP staff will advise on how to manage your condition.
What does CMP entail?
The programme will be tailored to meet your needs and will last up
to 13 weeks. CMP can offer a range of activities including Cognitive
behavioural Therapy, Healthy Lifestyle advice and guidance, and support
with confidence building.
